26th Annual, 2012 Girdwood Fine Arts Camp

We are currently accepting artist proposals for the 2012 Girdwood Fine Arts Camp.

We seek artists who enjoy working with children as one of the most important criteria in our selection process. We consider art and artists from a wide variety of backgrounds: professional artists, art teachers, college art students, theatre, dance & movement, etc.

General Information:

Guest Artists work with the student artists from 1 to 3 days depending on the proposed project.

Primary Group: The guest artist works with students ranging from ages 5 to 8. The artist works with 10 students at a time in 4 work sessions which last for approximately 40-45 minutes each. An assistant is provided to help the guest artist and the students.

Intermediate Group: The guest artist works with students ranging from ages 9 to 18. The artist works with 12 students at a time in 2 work sessions which last for approximately 1 hour 40 minutes each. An assistant is provided to help the guest artist and the students.

Artist Project Proposal:

Please include the following information in your proposal–

In what medium do you primarily work?

In what medium do you propose to work with the children (if different from above)?

Describe the project.

What theme will you pursue or how do you visualize this project (objectives/learning outcomes)?

Will you need special materials or equipment for this project?

How many sessions will it take to complete the project?

What age groups are you interested in teaching (primary, intermediate, or both)?

Are there specific days that you will be available to teach during the camp?
